FOP Home CFO is a privacy-first personal finance application. The app is designed to keep financial data local to the user's browser unless the user explicitly chooses encrypted Google Drive sync.
This application is not official accounting, tax filing, legal advice, or tax advice.
Data stored locally
Income, expenses, tax rules, utility bills and settings are stored as an encrypted vault in IndexedDB in the browser. The passphrase is not stored. The selected interface locale may also be stored in localStorage as a non-sensitive UI preference.
Google Drive sync
If enabled, the app uploads only the encrypted vault blob to the user's Google Drive appDataFolder. The app requests the drive.appdata scope. Decryption happens locally in the browser with the user's passphrase.
Data not collected by a backend
The MVP does not send finance records, passphrases, Excel files, backup files, or decrypted vault payloads to an application backend.
Plain exports
Plain XLSX export is available only after explicit confirmation. The exported file is created in the browser.
Data deletion
Users can clear the local encrypted vault from the settings screen. Users can also delete the encrypted appDataFolder file from Google Drive by revoking access and removing app data in their Google account.
